Surgical Dermatology

Dermatologic surgery is the observation of medicine that specializes in surgical procedures and minimally invasive treatments to improve health, operate on and care for the skin, hair, nails, as well as veins, secretory membranes and the adjacent tissues by various constructive dermatological surgeries, osmetic and non-surgical strategies. The reason for dermatological surgery is to repair or improve the cosmetic appearance of skin tissue.

The practice of surgical pathology allows the definitive diagnosis of the disease in all cases where tissue is surgically removed from a patient. This is usually done by a combination of gross and histological examinations of the tissue, and sometimes also involves evaluations of the molecular properties of the tissue by immunohistochemistry or other laboratory tests.
